Do You Know Jesus? No? Let Me Show You How

Do you know Jesus? No? Do you want to know Jesus? If so, stick around and I’ll try help you out a bit. After all, its ultimately Jesus that has made me a hope fanatic. And that is something I am eternally thankful for. (You can read more about why I’m a hope fanatic here.)

So! Let’s dive in!

There’s “the Roman road” you can follow. This is simply a succession of verses from the book of Romans in the Bible that leads you on a path towards salvation.

The Roman road in seven verses :

  • 1- Romans 1:20-21 ~ “For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse, because, although they knew God, they did not glorify Him as God, nor were thankful, but became futile in their thoughts, and their foolish hearts were darkened.”
  • 2 – Romans 3:23 ~ “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,”
  • 3 – Romans 5:8 ~ “But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
  • 4 – Romans 6:23 ~ “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
  • 5 – Romans 10:9-10 ~ “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.”
  • 6 – Romans 10:13 ~ ““whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.””
  • 7 – Romans 11:36 ~ “For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.”

Here’s a good post about “the Roman road” that covers it a bit more extensively.

Keep in mind, you can make this path as simple or as complicated as you want. We humans do tend to complicate matters we don’t understand or simply don’t fully trust. On the flip side, its good to “complicate” things from time to time to bring them into a level of understanding and trust we can openly embrace. Am I right?

On the other hand, you may prefer a simpler side and getting straight to the point.

In that case, you can jump into any one of these verses which can stand alone but still link you with the broader scope of the Gospel and Salvation in Christ Jesus.

  • 1 John 1:9 ~ “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”
  • John 5:24 ~ “Most assuredly, I say to you, he who hears My word and believes in Him who sent Me has everlasting life, and shall not come into judgment, but has passed from death into life.’
  • Acts 15:11 ~ “But we believe that through the grace of the Lord Jesus [a]Christ we shall be saved in the same manner as they.””
  • Acts 16:31 ~ “So they said, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and you will be saved, you and your household.””
  • Mark 16:16 ~ He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.

Keep in mind, “why” the testimonies of Jesus of Nazareth were collected and written.

“but these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:31).

Keep in mind this offer is only available while your physical body is still alive. And there is coming a time when every person will have to choose for themselves whom they will call “lord”. I implore you, while you’re still able, call on Jesus. Accept His gift of salvation. He has promised to answer and show you many things that will make you marvel. Many things of which you do not yet know. (Jeremiah 33:3; John 5:20)

As the saying goes, “what have you got to lose”? Ultimately, if the story of Jesus is “hogwash”, then you have nothing to lose. Go ahead and investigate and invite Jesus of Nazareth into your understanding. Oh, but what if you’re wrong and it’s not “hogwash”.

So, go ahead. Dive in! And, if you do choose to believe and trust in Jesus, let someone know. Then search out other believers in your area to do life with. It’s a know fact we humans learn and grow best when we’re in community with others. You’ll be glad you did.

“I call heaven and earth as witnesses against you today, that I have set before you life and death, the blessing and the curse; therefore, you shall choose life in order that you may live, you and your descendants,” (Deuteronomy 30:19)
