How well do you know your nation’s constitution? I ask because recently I’ve come to realize a few constitutional protections that have slipped past me. An interview from last week of a landmark case involving the US Constitution revealed one point I wasn’t aware of. The interview discussed the legal case involving Sheriff Richard Mack. Sheriff Mack fought his case all the way to the US Supreme Court. And his team won. This case reminds us of our constitutional protections within the United States.
The gist of the case surrounded events where federal entities came into the local jurisdiction “without” the constitutional consent of, or authority over, the local jurisdiction. Sheriff Mack decided to fight back. Which he did and, as stated above, he won. The full story is recounted in an interview at the URL shown below. I point this case out to express to you the importance of knowing your national constitution.
Luckily, Sheriff Mack new his. Therefore, he knew when federal procedures within his jurisdiction were not constitutional. This brings my thoughts back to all of us common folk. I would venture to say that very few people really know their national constitution and the rights and protections it provides.
So, I challenge you to locate your national constitution online. Here is a simple link to the US Constitution. Print off a copy for yourself. Then dive in! Learn that document. Discover for yourself the rules and guidelines that were laid out by your country’s forefathers.
Just imagine if every citizen in every country learned the accurate meanings held within their country’s legal constructs. I mean what if we really knew what the laws and rights were. When you know, you know. Then it becomes extremely hard for the crooked and manipulators among us to get away with so many open crimes.
So, another dare, if you will. I dare you to actually learn your nation’s constitution, or guiding documents. It may mean the very liberty we each so richly desire. This could indeed be the turning point to change our future and the generations to come.
Give instruction to a wise man, and he will be still wiser; Teach a just man, and he will increase in learning. ~Proverbs 9:9~
