My First Blogging Award!!!!

Well, it finally happened! I was nominated by a fellow blogger over at NowBoarding.ca for the Real Neat Blog Award. Woohoo!!! You can check out the nominating post here.

I’ve seen a few different blog awards given out in my seven plus months in the blogging world. Yet, this is the first time I’ve seen this particular award. And it landed in my inbox. How exciting!!!

The rules:

Although a blogger doesn’t really need to participate in any award nominations, I don’t mind as it gives me a chance to show my appreciation to other bloggers. Plus, it’s free exposure should you wish to participate. Now, for the rules:

• Put the award logo on your blog.
• Answer 7 questions asked by the person who nominated you.
• Thank the people who nominated you, linking to their blogs.
• Nominate any number of bloggers you like, linking to their blogs.
• Let them know you nominated them (by commenting on their blog, etc.)

My Answers to NowBoarding’s Questions:

1. What inspires you to write?

God. And life in general. But, ultimately its topics God is tweaking me on, now or in the past. Simply things that grab my attention and won’t let go.

2. What’s one thing you hope that people take away after reading your blog?

Some new thought, knowledge, or perspective they didn’t have beforehand. I don’t want to be “just another blog”, there are plenty of those. So, I hope to bring something extra to the table that will be different than all the other dishes at the potluck.

3. Where in the world do you wish you were, right now?

I’m good with where I’m at right now. Although, if I could have everything I have here and be at the beach, then that would be awesome! Well, except all the sand getting in my computer as I write. Soooo…. Maybe the beach wouldn’t be so great right now after all. Lol!

4. What is one thing most people don’t know about you?

What?!?!? Give you my secrets??? Never!!! Muwahahahaha…….

5. What’s your biggest fear?

Hmmmm….. Not really sure. I think most fears come from lack of knowledge. Therefore, educating yourself on your “fear” may help eradicate it. Maybe. Ya never know until you try right? Anyway,.. I actually try not to focus on that end of the spectrum. I’m sure I have some fears within me somewhere. But, they aren’t my priority. And, obviously, they aren’t in my life currently. So, I choose to focus my energy elsewhere. There’s always Hope for fearless days!

6. What’s one life lesson you will never forget?

Don’t participate in one-sided friendships. If you are the only one calling, visiting, inviting, and so forth….then you do not have a mutual friendship. A true friendship should be equal, for the most part. I wrote a post about friendships if you’d like to check it out. But, in short… Not everyone views your friendship at the same level you do. Pay attention. There are always signs!

7. What country do you need to visit one day?

Need is such a strong word! But…. Ireland. I’ve always been fascinated by its music, culture, countryside, dancing, and yes – even the accent. Turns out a large part of my DNA is Irish. So, there’s that much more reason to spend some time exploring The Emerald Isle.
