Thankfulness and Blessings

With Thanksgiving this week, I have been thinking a lot about thankfulness and blessings.  It just brings home once again how thankful I am and how truly blessed I am in pretty much every area of my life.  No, “Life” is not absolutely perfect, and there are a bunch of things I might change if given the chance, but….  I do get to live a pretty amazing existence, despite the many complications life throws my way.

All of this thinking on the topic reminds me of quite a few blessings that are bandied about from time to time.  So, with last week’s post about the power of our words in mind, I thought I would focus on sharing blessings over all of you this holiday season.  Without further ado, these are for you and your home…..

Traditional Irish Blessing

May the road rise to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm on your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields.
And until we meet again, May God hold you in the palm of His hand.

May God be with you and bless you,
May you see your children’s children.
May you be poor misfortune,
Rich in blessings,
May you know nothing but happiness From this day forward.

May the road rise to meet you
May the wind always be at your back,
May the warm rays of sun fall upon your home,
And may the hand of a friend always be near.

May green be the grass you walk on,
May blue be the sky above you,
May pure be the joys that surround you,
May true be the hears that love you.

Polish Blessing  (Author Unknown)

May your hand be outstretched to all you meet.
And may all men say ‘Brother’ when they speak of you.
May the land be fertile beneath your feet.
May your days be gentle as the sun-kissed dew.

A  Blessing by Pearl Rohrer

May you live as long as you want,
And never want as long as you live.

Go now in Peace.
May the Love of God surround you,
May the Grace of God astound you,
May the Hope of God ground you.
AMEN

And My Favorite Blessing of All

Aaron’s Blessing – Numbers 6:24-26

May Yahweh bless you and protect you;
May Yahweh make His face shine on you
and be gracious to you;
May Yahweh look with favor on you
and give you peace.

May this post be a blessing to you now and into your future as you look for the blessings in the everyday things of life.  I call you the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, and highly favored by the Lord.

As always, thanks for stopping by.  Talk to you soon!
